MAFS.5.NBT.2.7: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method.

Students will analyze prices and distance in the form of decimals. They will design a map/route from point A to point B that reveals the shortest distance and cost the least amount in regard to the consumption of gas. Students will then communicate their understanding of the data and engineering design through a written proposal.
