Do your students rush through the design process without really using the thinking skills they are designed for? This S.T.E.M. design challenge was made for students to leave a legacy while using critical thinking skills to create a piece of art to leave behind when they graduated. This resource includes the Google slides as an editable pdf. file that you can use to introduce your students to the meaning of legacy and examples of historical figures to model the meaning. It includes pages that walk your students through the design process as they create their own legacy to leave behind. The activities include evaluating the historical figures, brainstorming their own strengths and experiences, using symbols, fractions or ratios, planning, designing, evaluating using the S.C.A.M.P.E.R method, and sharing. This presentation/organizer provides the structure for students to take time to thoroughly go through each step of the design cycle through the end, evaluate, and share with a goal in mind.
