Using STEM, students explore the approximate numbers left of certain endangered animals in each category. I split students into groups and each take a different type of animal. This lesson can be differentiated by limiting the number that each group has to look up. After they research current numbers, they will create a graph in order to illustrate which species is the closest to extinction. Lastly, there is an integrated Language Arts component as students write an opinion essay about what they learned from all the graphed information.
