This is a comprehensive NGSS Project Based Learning and STEM project on the environmental and societal impacts of food waste that includes: close read activities, hands-on experiments, and lesson plans to help you teach the whole unit! Food waste is the largest portion of garbage filling our landfills and as it decomposes, it creates vast amounts of methane gas! We can make a big difference by educating our students about this issue. It aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards.
