Primarily aimed for teachers of students in grades kindergarten through second, “STEM For Young Learners: Beans” presents jam-packed projects for budding scientists, mathematicians and engineers. These activities help you make and create wonderful classroom experiences. Using the theme of beans as a springboard, a jelly bean number poem as a language arts and technology component and the jelly bean structures engineering lesson, students will build cross-curricular connections as they explore STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The projects and lessons provide enjoyable learning experiences in a variety of environments: a traditional classroom, home schooling, ESL classes, gifted and talented programs, after-school programs and extracurricular clubs. The arts are incorporated in the lessons and add STEAM to the activities that encourage creative and inventive thinking skills as learners build knowledge.
