This is a one week fun packed activity that would be suitable for engineers week. The activity introduces a story of a city that is in trouble using the 9 elements of digital citizenship, and steps that will lead to it's rescue. Students will research, read and report the nine elements of digital citizenship, careers in engineering and how problems are solved by engineers in the real world. The culminating activities involves building models that will solve specific problems in the city. As they plan and build the model-solution, students will follow the engineering design process and problem solving steps.
Activity objectives are:
1. Students will apply engineering design process as they solve the city problems.
2. Students will build a futuristic city that will spread the word on digital citizenship using the new inventions and innovations.
3. Students will convert an unused space to a learning zone.
