Clear, simple instructions lead to GREAT projects! Students shine with this one!
Includes take-home instructions, rubric, and student response sheet for design testing day.
This activity is designed to address NGSS MS PS3-3 (which corresponds to Massachusetts MS PS3-3, as well). Students design and construct a device that holds heat. They test their design by adding a small amount of hot water and measuring the temperature drop over 30 minutes. Includes (1) clear instructions that include a student-friendly rubric, (2) a paper to complete during the testing period, including data table, graph, and analysis.
