Students will understand how wing size, weight, drag and shape affects flight. They will be introduced to Bernoulli’s principle, angle of attack and forces of flight prior to the lesson. These concepts will be applied to create an airplane with the use of a simple sheet of paper. Students will be able to use inquiry to make the best choice of what type of paper to use and how to best fold that type of paper to make a paper airplane that goes as far as possible. They will reflect on results and record observations. From results they can make an informed decision on how to modify their design.
