In this resource you will find links to STEM Lab journals for grades 3-5 and grades 6-8. There are 2 journal templates in this download. You will also find a student sample for grades 3-5, that you can use as an exemplar with your students. You will be provided with links to "Make a Copy" of the STEM Lab journal templates, so that you can modify them and make them work for you!
When students are visiting a STEM Lab regularly, it is a great idea to have them use a journal to document their learning. As a STEM Lab facilitator, I had students use the journal to plan out their projects, document their work with pictures and writing, and reflect on their successes and challenges.
I prefer to use a digital journal, so that students are able to include the pictures and it can be easily distributed and collected. I also prefer using Google Slides because of how easy it is to insert images. I also use Google Classroom to distribute and collect student work.
