In this activity, students will work in groups to build a marshmallow shooter. This download includes a student 'Lab Report' to accompany an engaging activity to reinforce the concepts of force and motion and a teacher answer key.
Teachers! Please read how to make the marshmallow shooter prior to explaining and demonstrating to your students.
Students will be making a marshmallow shooter from cups and balloons (you can use paper cups OR plastic cups).
You must remove the bottom of the cup (take safety precautions). Take a balloon, tie a knot at lip end and snip the other end with scissors. Stretch the open end around the plastic cup and secure with tape.
This activity is fun and engaging for all ages, however if you choose to do this lab with younger learners, they may need help with the procedures portion.
If you are still confused I recommend doing a google search to follow along with these procedures.
