This engineering challenge has students planning and designing a pumpkin launcher.
Get students into groups of 2-4. Students will use the engineering design process to plan and create a pumpkin launcher. Using simple, inexpensive materials, students will plan, design, and reflect on their designs. Students will enjoy testing their designs, but also watching other groups test theirs! The goal of the launcher will be to shoot a pumpkin (I use candy pumpkins) 100 centimeters across the room and land in a witch’s cauldron. I have included an engineering design process card, a design directions card, a materials card, a design plan sheet, and a reflection sheet. Teacher instructions are included for easy set up!
Thanks for purchasing! I hope you and your students find this product useful and fun!
