STEM and Snow? Engineering an indoor snowball launcher??? You bet!! Using marshmallows and information about levers, force, and gravity, your students will engineer an exciting winter event without having to deal with cold hands and frozen toes. Catapults are always exciting for students and this will delight your class on those days when it is too cold to go outside for recess or if you live in a ‘no snow’ zone and want to pretend. And the knowledge they will gain about physical science and engineering will be amazing. Move over Newton…we have snowballs to launch!
Please note: This is the same lesson as the Autumn Mini “Punkin’ Chuckin’ ”. It has been revised and written for a winter theme and snow.
