PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity provides students with an opportunity to develop a 2-dimensional model of the eight major planets. Students will use Earth as the “unit” to approximate the diameters of the other planets, ultimately developing their own scale model (accurate for size but not for distance). Upon completion, students will have a better appreciation of the sizes of the planets in relation to one another. In addition, students will apply their math skills to calculate the diameter of each model in inches.
