    • Text & draggable icons to help with students read and visually see what should be included in the box when cleaning up

What if a certain supply goes missing or it runs out?

Where I have my boxes stored in my classroom, I have mini drawers right next to them. In those drawers, I have extras of each type of supply listed on the box. If a student needs to replenish any of the items, they know to look in there first. Likewise, if one of those items is found on the ground, it goes in the designated drawer.

One of those drawers also hold extra caps to glue sticks & markers. Trust me, I have used those emergency caps more often than not when caps go missing!

How do you handle sharpening pencils?

With the drawers mentioned above, I actually don’t have one for pencils. I have two buckets labeled “Dull” and “Sharp”. If a student’s pencil needs a good sharpening, they just place it in the “Dull” bucket and take out a sharp one and get right back to work. I do handle all the sharpening myself after school, but luckily I don’t have to do it as frequently as I did when I was in the regular classroom!

Does each child have an assigned box?

In my classroom they don’t get with the amount of space that I would need to do this effectively. However, I think that this is a great idea to provide even more organization when getting supplies!

Where did you get the supply boxes?

I ended up purchasing mine from Amazon. You can click here for the affiliate link. It won’t cost you any extra, but I get a little bonus from you purchasing through my link!

Why did you choose the materials that you did to place in the boxes?

I teach Kindergarten-5th grade STEM. I wanted my supply boxes to be useful for all grades. Thus, I chose materials that I would be comfortable for all grades to have access to independently. For for “specialty” supplies for other projects (markers, tape, rulers…) , I have those in other drawers and locations in the room that are student accessible. However, the great thing about these labels is that I made them 100% editable and customizable to meet your supply needs.
