STEM Weather Project
Product Description
This project is a great addition to any weather unit. Depending on how much class time you have to devote to this project, it could take up to six weeks. You can shorten it by having students work on parts of the project for homework. Students will be choosing a city and collecting weather data for their city for three weeks. Once the data collection period is over, students will use the data to complete the following tasks:
-Create a weather map of their city and predict the weather using a weather map.
-Analyze clouds and write a reflection over how the clouds can help predict the weather
-Design and build a doghouse based on the climate of their city. The doghouse needs to incorporate a source of renewable energy (appropriate for their city) to light a lightbulb for a very spoiled dog. *I offer extra credit if they can actually make their doghouse light up.*
-Create a weather newscast for their city.
