STEM and Animal Adaptations.
Engineer an animal to match a habitat.
A super way to integrate engineering into a unit on animal adaptations!
This activity was used as part of our “ Get Caught Engineering - Is It in Your Nature?” family workshop at the Smithsonian’s Natural History Museum.
Teacher notes, student guide, four habitats information cards (rainforests, deserts, mountains and the arctic), inquiry questions, group role cards, vocabulary list, rubric, poster, and a list of easy to find materials are all provided for you. This STEM activity is a fun hands on lesson that can be used to review and apply concepts from a teacher’s previously taught lesson on animal adaptations and habitats.
