STEM Engineering Challenge for Force and Motion.
A STEM activity in which students apply their knowledge of force, motion, and gravity to solve a creative engineering problem. Students are challenged to design a prototype of a roller coaster for a marble. Using easily available materials, students in grades 3-6 will be guided through the engineering design process while working in collaborative teams. Teachers are provided with a complete packet that includes student worksheets, teacher notes, a rubric for assessment and a design brief poster. Collaborative team skills of problem solving, planning, perseverance, patience and presentation are stressed. A fun activity that is easily integrated into the science and math curriculum.
