PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Modeling-based assessment on kinematics in which students translate motion from one mode into three others.

Modes Include:
-Motion Map
-Position-Time Graph
-Velocity-Time Graph
-Written Description

Example:
-Student is presented with a position-time graph on which can be seen 3 variations in motion (3 "legs" to the trip--one is stationary, one is constant velocity in positive direction, one is constant faster velocity in negative direction.) Student is asked to translate each "leg" into a v-t graph, motion map and written description.

Four total test questions. Each question asks student to translate from one representational mode to three others.
