Product Description
STOP Bullying Behavior is a 4-step pro-active guided approach designed to support students to self-regulate and control their feelings while enhancing their friendships and social/emotional well-being.

Includes a How-To for Teachers, Implementation Ideas and Tips, Teacher script and poster to explain strategies, and Student Reflection Log.

I introduce this strategy to my whole class at the beginning of the year no matter what grade I teach. I find that it encourages positive and respectful interactions between students while in the classroom and it provides a framework for sorting out problems in the school yard during unstructured times such as recess time, nutrition breaks or lunchtime. You can enlarge the chart on the next page and post it in your classroom as a visual reminder for students.

When I have a student who continues to have difficulty, I may decide to use the worksheets. Older students may fill out the worksheet on their own while you may have to scribe for younger students.

I always take a few minutes to debrief with a student after an incident. The worksheet provides a consequence so students know that they will be accountable for their actions. It also provides a record of incidents for parents and principals and/or administrators in the event that there is an escalation in behavior that needs to be dealt with through different channels.

If I do send home a sheet for parent signature, I always make a quick phone call home so parents know that it is coming and so that they know I have dealt with it at school. I find that the worksheet takes a positive tone and allows for an open guided discussion between parent/guardian and child.
