Your students will have a BLAST role-playing the various refusal skill scenarios. This is a great formative activity leading up to a summative assessment on refusal skills. Not only will you be able to watch as they use the S.T.O.P. Refusal Skills in action students will be able to peer-evaluate.
How it works:
Students will work in groups of 3. Two students act out an included scenario while another student observes with a checklist. One student is the "peer pressure person" while the other is the "refusal skill person". As they move through each scenario the students rotate so they each get sufficient practice. You will be amazed at how engaged and involved even the most quiet students become!

*The scenarios are set up to be somewhat modest situations as an introductory level health class, they do not include topics related to sexual health education, drugs or alcohol. Feel free though to edit the scenarios for upper level topics. Refusal Skills are a great skill for all levels to learn!
