Popular all year-A Christmas Carol provides students with background into 1843 England. The story focuses on the problems of the poor and the improvement of working conditions at that time. This story shows the human misery around us and the need for man to reach out and help his fellow man in times of need. It gives students options of how they can help those in need in their communities. Many activities are included in this lesson plan which will enable students of all ages to expand their thoughts and perhaps change their attitudes regarding those in need. For younger children, view the Muppets Christmas Carol on DVD.
