Running is one of the most basic of all locomotor skills. Running may be used more often than any other locomotor skill except for walking. It is an action that needs to be taught correctly and consistently reinforced through the elementary years. Running is being introduced in kindergarten, but must be returned to frequently until students have learned proper running technique.
