Sacagawea: Story questions to supplement the 4th grade Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Journeys story "Sacagawea" Unit 4, Lesson 20. Students will be given 16 story questions that require them to locate details and understand the story. Students are asked to answer the questions in complete sentences, restate the question, and use correct grammar and spelling. I use this activity after the first reading to help the students gain a general understanding of the story. I find that my 4th graders benefit from practice writing clear complete sentences. Questions are based on the 5Ws. I usually move onto close reading questions after our second reading. This activity can be used as an independent assignment, partner activity, homework, or assessment.
