Product Description
This activity aligns with ServSafe Chapter 5 on Purchasing, Receiving, and Storing. What you/students will need for this activity:
- 1 full 12x18" sheet of construction paper
- 1 refrigerator (inside shelving) print out
- 1 glue stick
- 1 scissors

Along with your guidance, students will lay their construction paper flat on the table and longways, left to right (horizontal). They will take their fridge shelving print out (included in this product) and place it in the center of the construction paper. They will then fold the construction paper edges to cover the print out just like a 2-door, side-by-side refrigerator. On the inside, they label the shelves and then the minimum internal cooking temp. so they can see the correlation between cooking temp and placement in the refrigerator/cooler. They will then use grocery store ads to cut out examples of each food that go on each shelf. You decide how many of each you want them to provide.

Included in this download:
- Blank shelving (no labels)
- Shelving with Guided Labels
- Shelving with Labels filled in
- Image of a finished product
