Child abuse prevention is perhaps the single-most important topic that educators can teach their students! But, we all know that it is SO sensitive that it can be difficult to navigate and uncomfortable to teach! So, I created this clickable PowerPoint presentation that makes this tough topic EASY-TO-TEACH, engaging, and (believe it or not) FUN! It is perfect for PreK-2nd graders and can be used by school counselors, teachers, mental health counselors, or parents! A document showing which ASCA National Standards are addressed in this lesson is included.
This lesson teaches about physical and sexual abuse through the 3 types of touch:
This product explains:
✔ What are the 3 types of touch?
✔ How does each type of touch make a child feel?
✔ What are examples of each type of touch?
✔ What do I do and say if someone tries to give me an ouch touch or a private touch?
✔ Who is a safe person I can talk to?
The presentation empowers students to be a HERO and tell a safe person if someone is hurting them or someone they love. The lesson uses kid-friendly language that is accessible to diverse populations and perfect for our early readers.
I hope this lesson will be as helpful to you as it as been to me and my students! Best wishes and thank you for your help in keeping our kids safe! :)
