This lesson plan covers all aspects of safety on medication and household products for students. This includes what is NOT safe, as well as who should be giving you/student medicine? Warning label information and what to do if you think someone has been poisoned. A Cut and paste activity, an assessment-identifying the safe household items. Students will be able to understand what medicines are and what they do for the body.
Students will be able to identify what it means when you become poisoned by medicine or household cleaners
Students will be able to tell the difference of the safety terms or items to be careful of on household cleaners bottles or containers
Students will be able to identify who should be allowed to give you medicine
Students will be able recognize a list of household products that are dangerous
Students will be able to understand to look for Warning labels on household products
Students will be able to discern some of the reasons someone might be using a medication
Students will be able to tell the difference between over the counter and prescription medicine
Students will be able to recognize and understand the caution on never taking or swallowing something without permission
Students will be able to identify where medications and household products should be stored for safety
Activity one: Circle who should NOT be giving you medicine
Activity two: Identify which items are SAFE household items
Activity three: cut and paste the cleaning products and medicines into the correct boxes.
