This a great activity to get your students talking. Students work in pairs to convert 18 (9 for each partner) equations from standard form to slope intercept form. Like the typical sage and scribe activity, students will work with a partner to complete each problem in the column. Partner A will begin. Partner A will describe step by step how to convert the equation from standard form to slope intercept form. Partner B will write down each step exactly as Partner A describes it. If Partner B does not agree with a step, they will star it and discuss at the end of the problem. Please check the answer key there is a discrepancy. Partner B will then be the sage for the next problem. Only one partner is speaking at a time or writing at a time.
