Is it time to focus on words other than 'said' when writing? Are you working on improving writing skills in the classroom? Help your students add creativity to their writing by introducing them to a whole list of words to use instead of said. They will enjoy this fun "Said is Dead" word search!! If your students are like mine, they love these.
Because this has a tombstone themed picture, it might be fun to incorporate into Halloween. I bet they could write a really spooky story using some of the words. The word search doesn't say Halloween though, so it will work any time of the year.
In this Said is Dead themed puzzle, words are found forward, backward, up, down, and diagonal. I would consider it on the challenging side since students are looking for words in all directions.
I use word searches to introduce vocabulary, or even just give it as morning work. They are also great to glue in writing notebooks for future writing ideas. Perfect for a sub, too. Have your students further practice using some of the words in their journal. Use this Said is Dead word search however you would like in your classroom.
