#Sale 2nd 3rd 4th grade First Strokes Print Legibility Handwriting INDIV LIC
First Strokes Print Legibility Program from The Handwriting Clinic! Created by Jan McCleskey, MA, OTR. This program has been used for years at The Handwriting Clinic for handwriting classes and summer camps. It has been used throughout many school districts as a handwriting program for students 2nd grade and above, to increase legibility. This program works on legibility techniques to get improvement in legibility WITHOUT going over a standard handwriting program. Perfect for students 2nd grade and above who have generalized handwriting, but poor legibility. This is not a program for beginning learners - recommended ages are 2nd grade through 5th grade ....although the techniques could be used for older students and adults. The projects within the books would be more appropriate for 2nd - 5th grade. This is a researched based program. Works on sizing of letters to get a consistent size. Teaches students to recognize speed handwriting errors and to grade handwriting samples. Students work on adaptive notebook paper to practice skills, then generalize to writing on notebook paper. This workbook also works towards generalization of skills to fill in the blank worksheets. Math legibility is included for numeral formation with legibility and sizing! This program is multi-sensory - designed to teach the students the concepts through working on concepts in giant handwriting lines, then progressing to the adaptive paper, and then to notebook paper. Works well with children who are functionally at approximately the 2nd grade level, with generalized writing. Students usually attain better legibility within a few sessions of instruction, then practice techniques through FUN activities in the workbook and ultimately generalize to legibility on standard paper! See preview for a portion of the workbook. Perfect for occupational therapists to use with caseload, perfect for regular ed teachers to use techniques even within a general classroom.
This zip file also contains some printable adapted notebook paper. Sometimes the paper is a little small for students who may have motor coordination problems, Also, some students may need darker lined paper due to vision challenges. The downloadable file contains printable papers that are darker lined, and slightly larger. It is still recommended that most students use the adapted notebook paper/cursive ruled paper that is commercially available.
This is an individual digital copy for classroom use. A teacher may make multiple workbooks for a classroom. This file and license for use, allows for a single individual to make workbooks for classroom, clinical or tutoring use. IMPORTANT: The workbook itself is downloadable. However, the paper that comes with the workbook, is an integral part of the program! You can purchase the paper in one of two ways.
1. The Handwriting Clinic/First Strokes Products
www.TheHandwritingClinic.com. See First Strokes Catalog. The paper is called adaptive notebook paper.
2. You can also purchase the adaptive notebook paper through the School Specialty catalog. The paper is called "cursive ruled paper" in the School Specialty catalog.
There is also a building license on TPT where this file may be shared within a building and used with multiple students and in multiple classrooms.
If you would like a hard copy of a workbook, and a 1/2 ream of the adaptive notebook paper, go to www.thehandwritingclinic.com since TPT no longer supports shipped products.
