PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Salem Witch Trials teaching resource includes 30 inquiry-based research task cards with a digital and print reader’s response sheet, teacher’s answer key, and access to a Salem Witch Trial's Symbaloo Webmix with 52 bookmarked digital research resources!

The Symbaloo Webmix will provide your students with access to different "text types"all on the same topic; such as, informational text articles, primary sources, interactive tours and websites, along with related videos and multimedia. This virtual library of resources on the Salem Witch Trials can also be used for nonfiction bell ringers or for any additional activities featuring the Salem Witch Trials, Puritans, or early America!

This high-interest research activity provides students with the historical context of the Salem Witch Trials, introduces the key people involved, and provides them with a framework of what life was like as a Puritan in America during the late 17th Century.

The task card prompts will challenge students to think about the possible agenda behind the accusations, to ask themselves why the accused were specifically chosen, and to analyze the modern theories as to what may have caused the alleged “afflictions.”

With just one click, students can easily access all the bookmarked sites they need for research.

The task cards are available on Google Slides. Extra task card templates are provided and each task card is fully editable to meet your needs!

A print and Google Doc task card response sheet is provided for students to record their responses to the inquiry-based research questions and prompts. The detailed teacher’s answer key and bookmarked research sites ensure this will be easy for teachers to implement!

Prefer printing the task cards? The cards are formatted with cut lines and can be printed and laminated for cooperative group research and centers!

Information in this packet includes how to share with your students using the shortened Google Drive share links, how to include a copy for students within Google Classroom, and how to download resources from Google Drive into a compatible format to use with Microsoft OneNote.
