This assignment can be used for grades 9-12, and it is a holiday color by number activity. The problems involve calculating prices of items after sales and tax are applied. Students solve each problem (A-I) and match their answers with the correct number from the list of answers at the bottom of page 2. This will tell them which color to use for each number (#1-9). Most students finished in a 50 minute class period, but I allowed a few to take it home to finish coloring.
I used this in an Advanced Quantitative Reasoning class (for seniors who have taken Algebra 2 but don't want to take College Algebra). I loved this assignment because it helped my students to realize that they use math when calculating discount and sales tax amounts. Students seemed to enjoy it as well!
