Book 1: First and Last, Slow and Fast. Full or memorable, rhythmic rhyming words and phrases, this story describes Sami’s world of opposites and opposition. After getting lost in a race with Bruce Bass and Porsha Pike, Sami discovers that we can’t all possess the same talents, and that life is more about improving our strengths rather than envying those of others. Book 2: Ten Full Friends. Through the use of alliteration, repetition and rhyme, readers learn addition up to ten. Children delight in the colorful illustrations and simple language as they expand their understanding of the world around them. (25 pages)
Book 3: Ten Flies on a Rope. Using a variety of underwater animals, this simple story explores the concepts of giving, sharing and happiness as it teaches readers to count down from 10. (30 pages)
Book 4: Sami’s Curious Collection. Sami has fun collecting things from under the sea. This clever story encourages counting and simple addition while exploring sensory adjectives describing different textures, colors, shapes and sizes. (25 pages)
Book 5: ABC’s of VIRTUE. This story introduces children to the letters of the letters of the alphabet with an emphasis on words related to building virtue and character. Through imaginative scenes with the SamiTales characters, simple objects representing each letter are creatively displayed. The symbolic representations of the 8 Virtues are cleverly hidden throughout the pages to encourage a ‘search and discovery’ dialogue between adult and child. (33 pages)
Book 6: Child of Virtue Handbook. This is a poetic overview of the 8 Virtues program. It is designed to colorfully and graphically illustrate the 8 Virtues rainbow, symbols and crest in a way that is memorable to children. It establishes a common set of terms and icons, and includes a glossary. Students are asked to commit to living a life of virtue as an introduction to the SamiTales Relationship and Character Development Series. (31 pages)
