Example is a short outlined response to a query on Beowulf's honor in his final battle and includes quotations with simple interpretations, serving primarily to clarify the purpose and organization of details in an outline. Example can be understood with or without reading Beowulf.
Two Styles, each stand-alone pages:
(1) Traditional Format (Roman numbers, capital letters, etc.)
(2) Natural Numbers (CRISS method) which seems simpler to me.
***Lesson: Useful example for lesson introducing outlining, followed by practice.
***Quick 1-2-3 organization method: Useful for writing longer responses to questions on texts, by working backwards from details (3), categorizing and labeling each "3" under ideas (2a, 2b, 2c, etc.), and summarizing concepts (1).
***Reading analysis of organization: May also be used to analyze the structure of written work, whether completed essays or other expository writings. This benefits comprehension and understanding of structure.
KEEP IN MIND An extra page includes an excerpt if needed, though this is NOT the same translation quoted in the outline.
