This unit has four different types of syllable activities for your students. I have the entire syllable unit listed in my store.
The first set of pages are to be printed, laminated, and cut into fourths. You can then use them in centers or small groups over and over.
1.Students say the word.
2.Clap the word to hear the syllable break.
3.Then use a dry erase marker to circle the number of syllables in the word.
4. Then the students will clap the word again listening for the syllable break and place a slash to mark the break.
This activity will help students hear and see the syllables/parts in words.
The second set of pages is a group of picture/word cards that can be used in a variety of ways during centers or small groups. You can use them for syllable sorts such as the number of syllables or as a Concentration or Go Fish game.
The third set of pages is to practice cutting words into syllable breaks. This activity allows students to hear and see what the parts (syllables) look and sound like.
The fourth and fifth set of pages are worksheets that can be used for individual practice or homework.
