Classroom debates are a wonderful way for students to strengthen their skills in the areas of group work, public speaking, problem-solving and research. Divide your students into six groups. Two groups will compete against each other at a time for a total of three classroom debates. Three debate questions are provided, so each of the three debates are different. The debate questions are about feudalism in Japan and the role of the samurai, shoguns, daimyos and peasants.
