Product Description

This is a reading activity about the Sand Creek Massacre court proceeding. On the stand is John Smith who tells about his first hand account of the Sand Creek Massacre. Smith describes the senseless attack on Native Americans and from his perspective, a white man who married a Native American woman and had a "half-breed" son.

I personally edited the testimony to make it read more as a story. Nothing was added, the order wasn't changed, but some of the dialogue between Smith and the lawyer was cut out.
