Students crave art and the joy it brings to their school day. There is no reason the art can’t be academic. Plus, “Smart Art” decorates your classroom with rigorous learning. People enter your room and are in awe of cute it is, and as they look closer they see how smart your students are becoming!
Santa’s beard features contractions. Along with the darling project you get three contrations activities that will help your students practice further.
Activity 1: Hitch up the Sleigh while matching contractions to the words that make them.
Activity 2. Read and Label: This is designed to get your kids reading and understanding sentences with contractions in them.
Activity 3: Writing Contractions: Writing contractions is far harder than reading them. Kids can use the included Contraction Helper Bookmarn to help them if they get stuck!
The Art is ready to be run off on construction paper. There is no tracing needed in this art project.
I love to do this packet on my party day. The kids are hopped up on Santa anyway, so I figure let's give them an academic way to express their joy!
