Do you DIBEL?
If you teach kindergarten or first grade you know how important quick decoding skills are to students' success (and benchmarks) on the DIBELs Nonsense Word Fluency measure. I practice nonsense word fluency with my students all year long using a variety of games. This Christmas themed game will liven up every day practice for students.
This activity is also appropriate for second or even third grade teachers who work with students who require remediation in their decoding skills.
This fun and engaging game is great for partners, small groups, and even whole groups.
"Santa's Christmas Cookies" includes 60 nonsense word "cookie" cards and 24 "empty plate" cards. Students try to collect as many "cookies" as they can before they find an "empty plate".
