Product Description
Did you ever wonder what Santa did on his days off? Not just make toys! I recently found him on the beach... snorkeling, surfing, and even having a water gun fight with his reindeer crew! I was able to capture his events in this math unit that I'm sure will add some whimsy to your classroom this Christmas!

In this Common Core Aligned unit aimed at First Graders, you will find the following centers and activities:

~Surfin Santa~ Students will find the sum to basic facts and sort under specific sums.

~Light Bright~ Students will add the missing sequence numbers to a string of Christmas lights.

~I Wear My Sunglasses at Night~ Santa's wearing his sunglasses at night because the Christmas lights are so bright! Students must figure out the numbers before and after the shining lights!

~Flip-Flop Fa, La, La, La, La~ Students will add to find the sum on each flip-flop and them compare the answers with a <, >, or = symbol.

~It's Beach Time~ Students will match the digital Beach-Ball Clocks to the digital clocks.

~Snorklin' Santa~ Students will find the numbers 10 more, 10 less, 1 more, and 1 less to those given, while snorkeling with Santa underwater!

~Diving for Doubles~ Santa is taking the plunge down a double's water slide! Students must total the domino doubles and write a number sentence to match.

~Mixed-Up Gifts~ Students will have to choose the gifts from Santa's sack that make a fact family. One present doesn't belong...

~Lovin' Each Bite~ Students must spin the watermelon wheel and add the number to the amount of seeds on their Santa watermelon card. The numbers on the wheel are in 10's.

~Ho, Ho, Yum! Santa's taking an ice cream break and students must figure out if the number sentences are true or false and sort them accordingly.

~The Great Water Gun Fight~ (a must see!) Santa and his crew are having their annual water gun fight and the students are invited! They must determine who has the greater number...Santa or his opponent by using a <, >, or = symbol.

I urge you to download the preview as the graphics in this unit are just wonderful! The students will for sure be engaged in each interactive center and activity. Each center comes with a student direction card and recording sheet. They will love to see what Santa does on his days off!
