Oh no, Santa got lost while delivering his presents! Have your students help him find his way home with this fun, FREE science activity pack that introduces students to magnetism and finding directions using a compass.
Instructions for Use:
Students will read about Santa needing to find his way home. Then, students will either build a compass, or use a pre-made one, to find where North is. You will receive a page with 4 different houses. You'll place the houses around your room, making sure to put one where North is in your classroom. Students will use their compass to find North and find out which house is Santa's.
Students will then reflect on what they've learned about compasses and the Earth's magnetic field. Additionally, you can have students use 2 different methods of finding North, then compare and contrast using the included Venn diagram.
