Do you encourage finger spelling with your students?
Santa's "Word" Shop is an adorable word recognition game for you and your students. It is perfect for the holiday season. This game reinforces short vowel decoding skills.
There are over 90 flashcards included in this reading game.
Game Directions (2-6 players):

-Each player takes a turn reading a card. A correct response allows the player to keep the card. For an incorrect response, the player must place the card back in the deck.
-A “Reindeer Games” card allows the player to take one card from another player, but they must correctly read the card.
-A “Ho, ho, oh no!” card means the player must put all of their cards back in the deck and start over.
-A “Sight Word Tree” card means the player must read all four sight words correctly to keep the card.
-The first player with six cards wins the “Santa Word Shop” game!

It is a great resource to use for a center activity during my ELA block. These flashcards are great to send home with students for parent reinforcement.
Remember that practice makes fluent!
