Description

The population boom has become somewhat of a problem Santa and his elves, so they need help with new workshop divisions throughout the world.

In this PBL, students will design a workshop that meets specified requirements. This PBL combines knowledge of all four operations, total area, and word problems, as well as letter writing, where students can practice different types of writing (narrative, opinion, explanatory or persuasive).

Two versions of the PBL are provided for differentiation, including differentiated student checklists and grading rubrics. Grid paper and lined-letter template papers are also included.

Extension ideas with student example pictures are included.
