Just Mrs. Jones Comprehension Packets are different because:

  • I include printable + TWO digital options for one price.
  • I use as much printable space per page as possible. They’re attractive without wasting a lot of space on unnecessary graphics and margins.
  • All my questions are SPECIFIC to the novel. Why pay for questions you could quickly write yourself like, “Tell about the main character” or “Predict what happens next?” My questions are unique.
  • Students love them! Kids like to know what to expect, so consistency is a big plus. My students, other students in my school, and children of homeschool friends have all done these packets and actually enjoyed them!
  • You’ll love the consistency too- exactly what you need for EVERY day you’ll teach this book without having to worry about what comes next.

This FREE product includes printable and digital versions of a Comprehension Packet for Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan. The packet includes a comprehension sheet for 5 days worth of reading, covering the whole novel. Each page includes the following categories: vivid vocabulary, comprehension check, picked passage, link to literature, story sketches, test taking, and swift summary. The questions are higher level thinking and common core aligned. Answer key is included at the end.

All my Comprehension Packets follow this format.

TWO digital options are included:

  • I've used the TPT tool to prepare a digital activity that you can use to immediately assign the entire packet with a shareable link on any learning management system. This option looks just like the packet, but doesn't offer immediate feedback to students.
  • I've created a separate Google Forms link for each page of the packet that can be used through ANY online platform. This option looks different than the packet but includes the exact same content AND provides immediate feedback to students because I've inputted the answer key in the "feedback" section of the answer key. Multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions will self-grade with this option. You will be able to view student responses in a variety of ways depending on your preferences.

"This is a great resource with a good variety of questions. The questions require the students to use higher order thinking skills and not just recall facts."

"Your packet is well organized and helpful. The thought provoking questions are what I like to use in the classroom. I love the way you use different ideas for each section. Thank you!!"

"Thank you so much for this packet! This covers a variety of critical thinking skills and concepts such as character traits and similies. This is just what I needed."

"I love everything about this! Thank you for putting the time into creating questions that are CCSS aligned and keeping lesson structure consistent. Two thumbs up! :) Thank you!!!"
