Pg. 7-9 My Comprehension Flip It– copy pages A and B back to back - fold on the solid line and cut on the dotted lines – answer the questions and illustrate
Pg. 10 Spelling Art – roll the dice to see what color to write your spelling word – write each word four times
Pg. 11-16 Base Words and –ed, -ing endings – Fill your basket with base words and –ed, -ing endings – fold paper in half and glue sides to form a pocket – copy pages A and B of your spelling words back to back – cut them apart – flip your spelling word over and separate it into two parts – in the first box write the base word and in the second box write the –ed or –ing ending
Pg. 17-19 Story Structure trifold – copy pages A and B back to back and fold like a brochure – fill in the information of the story and illustrate

Pg. 26-31 My Day as a Pioneer– a craft and writing activity – copy all patterns onto appropriate colored construction paper – copy off as many writing papers as needed – add the white trim to the top of the barn – add the window to the top of the barn – add the door to the window and color parts of it red – draw yourself in the window under the flap – add the doors, open the doors and add your writing – put together as seen in the example
