This is a 30 page resource to accompany your novel study of the Newbery Award winner Sarah, Plain and Tall.
My hope is that this will help you to implement great instruction in your classroom to improve student success and achievement.
This group of novel activities is not intended to be used in any specific order. Rather, you should examine all that is included in this pack and see which of the activities will best suit your students’ needs. However there is a one page comprehension check for each of the nine chapters that can be used in sequence as you read the novel.
You will find that some of the activities come with an “anchor chart” that can be printed as a handout or displayed at a center for students to gather more information.
Finally, all activities are grounded in being able to find text evidence to support ideas and answer choices. Most of the instruction for these activities should always be centered around the idea of providing proof from the text.
I hope these activities help you implement best practices in the classroom all while helping your students become engaged readers. Please feel free to ask me a question on the Ask A Seller A Question page of my TPT store. Again, thank you for your purchase and happy teaching!
Includes activities for making inferences, determining theme, quoting text evidence, character traits, figurative language, text dependent questions, setting, visualizing, sensory images, and vocabulary and much, much more!
