Students will analyze satellite images from around the world to identify land and erosional features and predict how these features may continue to be reshaped by weathering. This activity works with the USGS website and a shortened URL has been included on the student handout page. The activity was originally created to be a digital assignment, but can easily be printed off and turned in on paper as well. Modify as you see fit.
NOW Included in this resource is a blank table for students to explore and have choice and a structured table that works with the satellite cards that can be printed off or uploaded separately. Students should make observations and then propose how geological processes have altered the surface of the Earth. Also, a two page web quest using the same USGS website. This bundle is the perfect resource to let students explore both on their own or be guided to discover the importance of satellite imagery in the study of our Earth's surface.
