Students create a satire of the novel by writing a script.
I allowed students to record their satire play with their phones or deliver to class as a play. If you prefer one of those options, you could edit the word document to fit your expectations.
Document includes a Prezi that goes over elements of satire, such as exaggeration, incongruity, reversal, and parody. When giving the assignment, students should be aware of these definitions. Before I gave the assignment, I had students find examples of when Mark Twain uses satire in the novel.
2 page document / assignment includes:
