Product Description
Teaching satire is hard, and requires students to differentiate between an author's literal argument and their implicit, actual argument. Attached are handouts, with readings and scaffolds, for a seven day satire mini-unit. The materials engage students in a variety of types of satire, including classic texts by Mark Twain and Jonathan Swift, as well as more current examples.

Please note that the assessment is not included, but the questions from the handouts can be used on a quiz or as the prompt for an essay.
