Leaps N' Bounds offers a novel study in southern fiction. This historical fiction novel follows characters in Georgia during the Indian removal. With a little mystery included, students in a English-Language Arts or Social Studies/History class will get a deeper understanding of the southern life in a small town as well as the importance of the ports in Savannah to Georgia's economy. Included in this novel study are lesson plans, vocabulary activities, historical activities, and close reading assignments. This book is the first in a series of four novels that follow several Georgia families from the Indian Removal, pre-Civil War, during the Civil War, and Reconstruction.
