Students use critical thinking skills to solve an inference mystery and determine who put Santa under a sleeping spell in time to save Christmas. Students "scoot" from clue to clue, making inferences in their "Case File" as they go. Each clue provides an opportunity to make an inference about the suspect. By the end of the lesson, students learn that the Easter Bunny poisoned Santa's hot chocolate.
As a creative writing extension, students can write the ending to the story.
